Our Review of the Gym Gear M.Sport Magnetic Indoor Cycle

This the Indoor Cycles review of the Gym Gear M. Sport magnetic indoor cycle...

How Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build?
Extremely simple to build. Attach the front and rear stabilisers, seat, handlebars and console and you're ready to ride.

What are the first impressions?
Fantastic. There are some really nice details on this indoor cycle which make it stand out from the crowd. Here are some of the things that we like:
  • Console is wireless, so there are no trailing cables or connectors
  • Both seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically so that you can achieve your perfect cycling position
  • It's a magnetic resistance bike so there's virtually no maintenance
  • Pedals can take cycling shoes or normal training shoes
  • Maximum user weight is nearly 19st which is very high for an indoor cycle
  • Paintwork is finished to a very high standard which gives a great first impression

What's it like to ride?
The Gym Gear M.Sport is brilliant to ride. It's very quiet and smooth as a result of the 20kg equivalent flywheel and the belt drive. We were so impressed with the bike that we gave it to 6 spin class instructors for the day to try it out. The comments that they had included:
- It's easy to control the resistance by turning the control knob through a series of clicks (there are over 30 resistance levels). You can then always work to the same resistance settings throughout your training session
- Because it has magnetic resistance there is no wear, so your training sessions can be repeated time and again without having to compensate for bike wear
- Incredibly quiet and smooth
- Can withstand really hard training sessions. At high resistance and high speeds the bike is very stable
- Emergency stop is a great feature if you need to stop pedalling in a hurry. It's also very accessable and easy to use

Any niggles?
None - pound for pound this has to be the best indoor cycle in the UK.

Anything else to add?
This is an indoor cycle that's very easy to live with. There's no routine maintenance, other than keeping the bike clean. If the drive belt needs adjusting then it's very easy to do but it's something that you won't need to do very often.

Overall Impression?
This is a great indoor cycle. It's equally at home in a spinning class as it is in a home environment, and it has all of the features that you could ever need. A good warranty is provided with the bike should there be any problems. At the time of writing this review the price of this indoor cycle is well under £1000 which is incredible given the quality - there are cycles which are twice the price which really don't match up to the Gym Gear M.Sport.
