Our Review of the Sole Fitness SB700 Indoor Cycle...

It's been a week or two since our last review, so here's what we think of the Sole Fitness SB700 Indoor Cycle...

How Easy is the Indoor Cycle to Build?
This is an easy bike to assemble - the quality of the components is fantastic and everything slots together very nicely. In all honesty, the console is a bit of fiddle to get working because you have to connect the tranmitter and position the sensor to get feedback on the display. On most indoor cycles this is done at the factory but on this bike you have to do it yourself. Don't let this put you off - after 5 minutes of connecting and adjusting the console works a treat.

What are the first impressions?
This is a truly fantastic indoor bike. It just feels bullet proof - it's so sturdy and everything about it shouts quality. Here are some of the things that we especially like:
- Has a gym quality feel - it's more robust that many full commercial indoor cycles that we've tried
- This indoor bike has the best manufacturers warranty for any indoor cycle in the UK - it has lifetime on frame and parts which is unbeatable
- Console is wireless, so there are no trailing cables or connectors (the set up note above relates to the transmitter and not the console)
- Both seat and handlebars can be adjusted horizontally and vertically so that you can achieve your perfect cycling position
- The adjusters on the seat and handlebar are very heavy duty
- The 22kg flywheel gives a really smooth ride
- It's incredibly quiet - the SB700 is belt driven
- Pedals can take cycling shoes or normal training shoes
- Maximum user weight is nearly 19st which is very high for an indoor cycle
- Paintwork is finished to a very high standard which gives a great first impression

What's it like to ride?
The Sole Fitness SB700 indoor cycle is one of the best indoor bikes that we've ridden. Here's why:
- It feels just like a full commercial bike with very little frame flex at high speed
- Don't be put off by the friction brake mechanism - it's highly adjustable and you don't need to replace the pad very often
- Incredibly quiet and smooth
- Emergency stop is a great feature if you need to stop pedalling in a hurry. It's also very accessable and easy to use

Any niggles?
Other than setting up the transmitter for the console, this is a brilliant indoor cycle. If you want gym quality at a home use price, then look no further.

Anything else to add?
This is an indoor cycle that's very easy to live with. There's no routine maintenance, other than keeping the bike clean. If the drive belt needs adjusting then it's very easy to do but it's something that you won't need to do very often.

Overall Impression?
This is the best home use, friction brake indoor cycle that we've seen. The build quality is exceptional and if you're looking for a bike for home that has the feel of the ones you've used at the gym, then this is the bike for you. The fact that it also has a lifetime warranty on frame and parts should tell you everything that you need to know.
